The community layer ships: follows, likes, moderated comments, and a newsletter that sends
A big stretch of building since the spring. darminsky.ca grew from a read-only showcase into something you can actually engage with: follow a project, like it, or leave a comment — all email-based, no accounts. The newsletter loop is now real end-to-end, with an admin composer, AI-assisted drafting, and a tokenized preference center so anyone can manage exactly what we send them. Under the hood, Project Foundry's direction sharpened around Architect, AI visuals, and a dedicated Forge workspace.
Project updates
The lightweight community layer is live on every project page — email-based follows with double opt-in, aggregate-only likes, and comments that flow through a pre-moderation queue before anything appears publicly. The newsletter is now wired end-to-end: an admin composer with AI-assisted drafting, Foundry-derived suggestions for what's worth sending, and a two-step send to confirmed subscribers. A tokenized, no-account preference center lets visitors see and manage everything tied to their email, and remove it on request.
Shipped
- Email-based project follows live
- Aggregate-only project likes live
- Moderated comments with a pre-moderation queue
- Newsletter composer with AI drafting and send path
- Visitor notification preference center
Decisions
- Community layer uses email-based identity — no accounts, no passwords
- Comments are held in a moderation queue and emails are stored but never shown publicly
- Newsletter and community follows are managed independently so unsubscribing from one never touches the other
The platform that runs every Darminsky project — including this website — sharpened its direction: making Architect a flagship intelligence layer that adapts to project type and timeline, adding AI-generated visuals and diagrams, keeping milestones and timelines alive as work changes, turning Forge into a focused software-development workspace, and introducing Recenter to rescue projects that drift or stall.
Decisions
- Architect positioned as the flagship planning engine
- Forge reframed as a dedicated development workspace inside Foundry
